the darkness of my dark-beating heart

This is an accumulation of poems over the last 4 or 5 years. Most don't have titles and all are extremely dark and morbid.

*Lost Paradise
My life is over again,
Misty darkness swirls all around me, inside me,
My loneliness is catching up to me,
Fast as I try to run, overwhelming me
How could I have burned paradise!
Lost in my pain again
Oh how I long for peace.

----

*Forsaken
Your stainless steel heart like a knife,
rips open my soul to bleed, unattended.
Dying, crying out,
Screaming in pain,
In agonizing, anguishing pain,
Oh God, why me?!
What have I done to deserve this life?
Is it my fault I'm forsaken by everyone?
Is it my fault I'm to die alone.

-----

*What is Death
What is death?
but something to fear
something else to look up to and revere.
And yet another thing to hate and look away from
Another thing for us to conquer and overcome
But also something else to except and move on from.
What is death but a shadow,
that lingers over us all.

But then again, what is life?
But an invitation to fall.

------

*Darkness (yes I actually turned this in as an English assignment)
Darkness can console
yet can mean the end.
to some it is protection,
to others, their enemy's friend
by some people, it's desperately sought
while others stubbornly face the light
I'm not sure of it's true nature
but as far as I'm concerned, It's me.

------

Death is my salvation and my salvation is cruely evasive
the damned scream in agony
I cry acidic tears of joy
for the heat melts the ice of my heart
and who in the universes cares.

------

obscurity, evasive words
where is simplicity?
knowledge, responsibility
where is safety?
uncertainty, hatred
where is trust, civility
Will violence forever haunt existence?

-----

Blood flows like water in the dark.
and what is a healthy heart
I never knew
I never will
such weakness, I'm ashamed
reveling and screaming in my pain
such despair
tell me the point
I don't care.

------

ripped and torn asunder
my lacerations burn
salt meets blood, raw flesh exposed
I can't scream
nothing left to cry for
anger rises as blood drains!
the world should feel my agony!
How can you enjoy life when I'm choking on my screams!?
I prey for my last second
I'm doomed to eternal life
bound and gagged by chains of agony
I can't breathe
I can't scream
I can't fucking die!!!

------

Why can't you see?
This is exactly who I'm going to be.
stop trying to control and change me
Conformity will be the death of us all.
God! I hate this fucking society!

------

They are in rough chronological order.

There amazing pieces of work! very dark, but there still awesome. I love them. You'll make a hell of a writer.

True, these step Into the relm of dark. though, I like them alot. One of the ones that doesn't yet have a name is my favorite. I know, that's not much help but, I am slightly too lazy to reposte it.
these mesh with several thoughts I've had. Good work.
I might poste up newer revised poetry rather than the older shit I have up somewhere. Only time will tell.

I quite enjoed the first and third of these poems. This by no means discounts the rest as good poems, but I especially picked those. They are quite depressing. Sadly many would use the word Emo to describe them, and to an extent they do sort of sound like ht; however, it's a misused word, and I personally think most of them are just hauntingly dark.

Yes, I would say hauntingly dark is a verry good description. It's not spacifically what I shoot for; merely the way my mind works. If people choose to use the word emo, so be it. Though I don't think it really fits.

Emo s a word that's lost all meaning. They used it to describe highly emotional people, and then it was to describe people whose lives were just one great spiral into suicide - cut wrists, all that stuff. It's also used to describe people who are goth. Now I think it's just a word that's lost all realistic use.

That word falls into the catagory of thousands of words that stupid people have given new meaning to. In the end, these rebrandings somehow defame the words origional perpous.

Agreed

completely agreed
and yet, the word will not go away. especially as it is used by those selfsame stupid people.
